We do not construct gardens ourselves, but we do work with many garden landscapers and builders in and around Exeter, Torquay, Torbay and Newton Abbot (and Devon), so we can help you find the right contractor for your build. As a rule, we always recommend that at least two (ideally three) competitive quotations are obtained.
Usually, we agree a fixed maximum fee with you to project-manage the work, to produce specifications, schedules of works, and to oversee the construction. This usually means a site visit once or twice a week but we are always ready to drop everything if a problem arises on site.
Our aim is to ensure that your project runs smoothly and that your garden is built to the highest possible standards.
Garden Design Fees (Or, how much does it cost?)
Like most professionals, we have an hourly rate for all the services we provide. Please contact us for our current rates.
Fixed maximum fees
Nowadays, most of our clients prefer us to quote a fixed fee for the services they require. We never exceed a quoted figure and if we spend less time we reduce our fee accordingly.
We do not charge travel expenses for clients within a radius of 25 miles from our offices in Dawlish but, beyond that, we charge 40p per mile for the extra miles only.
We pass on to our clients any trade discounts which may be available. In this way, we are always able to work solely in the interest of our clients and are not linked or tied to any particular contractors or suppliers, even if we recommend them to you.
Pecorama at Beer
The pop-up photos (left) show three of the interlinked themed gardens which we designed for this popular tourist attraction at Beer, near Seaton in Devon. From top to bottom they are The Sun Garden, The Rainbow Garden and The Moon Garden.
