BEFORE
BEFORE - The drop from patio to fence is about 3 metres
AFTER - The children have a level place to play
As garden designers we rarely get such a simple brief. Our clients wanted a garden design which would create a safe, flat area for their children to play.
A substantial retaining wall about 2.5 metres high was what was called for to level most of the garden.
Retaining walls, of any kind, are expensive but in this case a gabion wall proved the most cost effective.
The area below the gabions has been seeded with meadow grass and accommodates three small fruit trees (as well as a trampoline).
